The San Francisco 49ers family is mourning the loss of another former player, as offensive lineman Jordan Devey has died at 38 years old earlier this week.
Devey's wife, Linsey, announced the death of the former 49ers offensive lineman on Thursday night, and a GoFundMe page started for the family, which has a goal of $200,000, revealed that he died by suicide.
“Tragically, Jordan took his own life, leaving his family to navigate an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time,” the post stated. “As they face overwhelming emotional and financial challenges, including mounting medical expenses, the community is coming together to support Linsey and their children. The funds raised will help ease the financial burden, allowing them to focus on healing and moving forward without the added stress of immediate expenses.”
